I want to talk about the pressures society puts on us to be a ‘perfect woman’. It can often consume our minds and bodies on a daily basis, to conform or not to conform?
After discussing last weeks ‘Insta v Reality’ topic, we got talking about Renee Zellweger and how she came back onto the scene a couple of years ago to find herself being almost publicly shamed because of her new appearance after surgery. The pressures of being a perfect woman to look in her 30s and keep the Hollywood roles coming in had pushed her to the drastic measure of surgery.
But that isn’t how it is, certainly not how it should be, look at Helen Mirren. She embraced her natural beauty that embodied a certain sex appeal in the late 70s/ early 80s and hit the Hollywood scene big time. She’s still a very popular actress and has gone on to show women what natural beauty can look like.
Whilst it has been reported in previous years that Helen Mirren would ‘Never say never’ to Surgery, she is also of the mind to say ‘"It's sad when people destroy their faces with too much work".
We want to celebrate natural and healthy beauty with you. Celebrate what we think Helen Mirren embodies. She didn’t conform to the peer pressure and she is incredibly successful and a beautiful woman. At Natural Elements, we are proud to be all about Natural Beauty, encouraging a healthy mindset and feeling wonderful.
How can you celebrate with us?
Nominate someone in your life that you think is a Superwoman. An inspiration, or someone that did not conform to the pressures of being a ‘perfect woman’ and embraced their natural beauty.
All you need to say in the short video is;
- Who you are
- Who you’re nominating
- & why.
Simple as that. Just a brief 1-minute or so video about someone that, for you, embodies all that it is to be a natural beauty. Remember natural beauty isn’t about what is on the outside, it’s the inside that makes us who we are.
