A recent report highlighted that a staggering $4.8 billion is spent on treating problems linked to VM imbalance...
What is it ? VM is an ecosystem of bacteria, yeasts, viruses, fungi and other microorganisms that live in the vagina. It plays a significant role in women’s overall health and is unique to each individual.
What does it do ? VM is predominantly Lactobacillus, which produces lactic acid to maintain a low, acidic pH within the vagina, it prevents the growth of unwanted infections. Oestrogen also helps maintain a healthy vagina. Vaginal imbalance can occur from a number of circumstances, for example, antibiotics which are designed to destroy unwanted bacterial infections in the body, unfortunately, they also kill the good bacteria which protects the vagina from yeast and urinary infections. As a women ages the oestrogen levels fall, leading to an imbalance. This means women are more likely to suffer regularly with problems during the menopause, like yeast infections, such as thrush.
How can I prevent it ? Using natural products quite simply stops it happening in the first place. Similar to other microbiome’s in the gut, skin and scalp it’s all too easy to kill off the good vaginal microbiome with synthetic harsh chemicals, found in perfumes, shower gels/soaps, deodorant sprays and body products. So making sure we have worked tirelessly over the last 20 years to bring you products which are free from these harsh chemicals, helping you to take care of yourself, without impacting the vagina’s natural balance or upsetting how your body works.
Among other natural ingredients, research has shown that Boron can help protect against yeast infections and can be found in our X Cell Body Oil.
