There is a powerful push, especially in South Korea, where manufacturing skincare is a large portion of its GDP, to develop products to unload on Western customers. Some beauty brands recommend the need to use at least 7, 8 or 10 different products in a daily routine. Beauty magazines, which are the propaganda arm of the global skin care industry, do their best to convince women that if they don't use all of these products, they will be ugly, age faster, or die alone.
